As many people will already know, Mick Martin is transferring from Raheny Shamrock to Navan AC. As well as bringing a fresh challenge, his new club is closer to his home, making for more practical travel arrangements.

Chairperson Gerry Giblin had this to say on Mick’s transfer: “I want to take the opportunity to thank Mick for the enormous commitment he has made to our club over many decades. We are all very much in his debt as he worked tirelessly to build the club into the great success it has become.

“By every measure Mick has made a positive difference – competing, coaching, recruiting, promoting, stewarding, administering, to name a few.

“Having served on many committees, Mick also took the Chair of the Executive Committee at a crucial stage of our development with strategic capital projects , a growing membership, continued success of the flagship Raheny 5 and improved governance all in play. 

“In typical fashion, Mick has offered to continue his involvement in our key events so we will not be entirely rid of him just yet!
