Jordan McDonnell was first Raheny man home at the Dublin novice cross country championship leading the shamrock’s to bronze.

A good start to the cross country season as McDonnell came home in fifth place with Christian Finn 18th, Ronan Wogan 20th and John Shanahan 35th giving the Shamrock’s 78 points and bronze.

The Shamrock’s were just one point ahead of the host club, Donore Harriers. Clonliffe took gold with 22 points with DSD second with 43 points.

The non-scoring team members were Michael Counsel, Giovanni Salvatore, Ottmane Bellahsen,  Mark Salmon, John Clarke, Conor Wynne Walsh, Davey Duane, Robert Fox, Eoin O’Neill and Hugh Cronin.

The women’s team took fifth place and were led home by Sarah Deneher in 29th place followed by Caroline Kavanagh 30th, Clodagh Foley 32th and Molly Rickard 36th. The non-scoring members were Seona O’Keeffe, Laura Preston and Nicola Doyle.
