On Sunday December 21st the 48th edition of The Joe Noonan 5 mile road race takes place.
The mixed team race is once again included that has proved very popular over last few years.
Entry fee €6 which is all donated to GOAL.
From all entrants teams of four drawn from bowls as follows
- Senior 19-39
- Young Master 40-55
- Senior Master 56-65
- Mixer 16-18
- 66+
E.g. One from each bowl with further proviso that teams comprise two males and two females.
Draw for teams to be made from declared entries at 3pm on the Saturday, 20th December. Teams to be named with festive feel such as Team Rudolph, Team Scrooge, Selection Box Harriers, etc. Prizes to consist of Christmas Fare.
Post race adjourn to clubhouse for a reception with a Christmas feel, sausage rolls, mince pies, teas and coffees, etc. At the reception the athletes of year awards will be presented. There is an open invitation to all club Members who wish to attend if interested.

Race start 10am – Sunday 21st December 2025 – Starts at Manor House
Collect number at old church clubhouse beforehand
Presentation of prizes from 11am onwards in Old Church Club House
Teams to be drawn from declared entries at 3pm on Saturday 20th and will be posted on ClubZap later that evening.
