A number of the club’s athlete’s god their indoor season underway at the AAI Games on Saturday and Sunday in the national indoor arena.
Daphni Doulaptsi Teeuwen won the triple jump with a best of 12.44 metres. Kim O’Hare took third place with a best of 11.00 metres and Penny Clarke Doran was sixth with a best of 10.04 metres.
Orla Comerford opened her season last Wednesday in Zurich taking second place in 7.53 seconds behind Sarah Leahy in 7.44 seconds.
On Sunday, Comerford took fourth place in the series one of the 60m in 7.71 seconds.
In heat three, Erin Taheny posted 8.02 seconds. In heat five Emily Keogh posted 8.27, Ella McCann 8.32 and Issy McGovern 9.21 seconds.
Rebecca O’Rourke posted 9.07 in heat six.
In series two, Orla Comerford posted 7.67 and Niamh O’Neill 7.95 seconds in heat one.
In heat three, Erin Taheny clocked 7.99 seconds with Emily Keogh posting 8.19 seconds in heat four. In heat five Ella McCann clock 8.22. In heat six, Rebecca O’Rourke posted 8.64 seconds and Issy McGovern 9.24 seconds in heat seven.
In the men’s event, Michael Farrelly posted 6.89 for third place in heat one with David Konovalov clocking 7.15 to won heat six.
In the second series, Michael Farrelly was second in heat one in 6.81 seconds with David Konovalov winning heat six in 7.16 seconds.
At the 200 meteres, David Konovalov posted 22.62 second in heat 3. While, in the women’s event, Rachel Afari posted 25.48 seconds in heat four. In heat seven Ella McCann clocked 27.53. In heat nine Emily Keogh clocked 27.57 seconds.
Niamh O’Neill clocked 9.05 seconds in heat one of the 60m hurdles. In series two, O’Neill took third place in 8.92 second of heat one.
In the 400m Aine Sheridan posted 64:40 seconds in heat two.
In the pole vault, Patrick Ryan a best of 2.20 metres.
